Job Description: Mandarin Speech and Drama Teacher (Preschool)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Mandarin Speech and Drama Teacher to join our preschool team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive lessons that inspire creativity and language development in young children. The teacher will foster a love for drama, storytelling, and communication, helping children gain confidence in their Mandarin language skills through fun and educational drama activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate Speech and Drama lessons in Mandarin for preschool children (ages 3-6).
· Incorporate creative teaching techniques such as role-play, storytelling, puppetry, and improvisation to make lessons engaging.
· Encourage language development, self-expression, and confidence in Mandarin speaking.
· Design and execute drama-based activities that enhance vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication skills.
· Collaborate with other teachers to integrate drama activities with other aspects of the curriculum.
· Organize and direct small performances or presentations for parents or during school events.
· Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting lessons to suit individual needs.
· Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that fosters creativity and participation.
· Ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere in the classroom, promoting respect and collaboration among students.
Job Requirements:
· Fluent in Mandarin: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin. Ability to teach Mandarin as a second language is a plus.
· Educational Background: A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Speech and Drama, Performing Arts, or related field.
· Experience: Previous teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting, especially in Speech and Drama or language instruction.
· Creativity and Enthusiasm: A passion for working with young children and the ability to make learning fun through drama and performance activities.
· Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
· Patience and Adaptability: Ability to manage a classroom of young learners and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
· Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a well-rounded educational experience.
· Certification: First Aid certification and relevant teaching qualifications are advantageous but not required.
