Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Create and carry out the overall MICE strategy in accordance with the business goals of the organisation.
- Locate prospects for expansion in the MICE industry and create strategies to take advantage of them.
- Promote profitability and revenue development with creative service and event solutions.
2. Team Leadership:
- Manage, coach, and lead the MICE team to ensure high standards of drive and output.
- Encourage excellence and originality by cultivating a cooperative and creative team culture.
- Establish defined goals, carry out frequent performance evaluations, and offer continuing education and training.
3. Client Management:
- Establish and preserve solid bonds with important stakeholders and clients.
- Manage client events from start to finish, making sure that top-notch service is provided.
- To increase profitability, bargain over contracts and agreements with partners, suppliers, and customers.
4. Event Management:
- Supervise the organisation, coordination, and implementation of major events, making sure they adhere to business policies and client requirements.
- Effectively manage resources, finances, and schedules to produce successful events on schedule and under budget.
- Verify adherence to industry standards and best practices.
5. Market Research and Business Development:
- Keep abreast of market demands, competition activity, and industry developments.
- Locate and seize fresh business prospects in the MICE industry.
- Represent the business in conferences, trade shows, and networking gatherings.
6.Financial Management:
- Create and oversee the MICE division's budget, making sure that all monetary goals are reached.
- Keep an eye on and evaluate financial performance, using data to inform actions that will increase profitability.
- Create regular performance reports for upper management regarding the division.
7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Promote innovation in technologies, processes, and event concepts to improve operational efficiency and customer pleasure.
- Continuously analyse and enhance the MICE divisions service offerings and delivery techniques.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, event management, or a similar discipline. Having a master's degree helps.
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience in the MICE sector, at least 5 of those years spent in a senior leadership position.
- A track record of effectively overseeing major events and exceeding financial goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
- Outstanding negotiating and client-management abilities.
- Thorough understanding of the MICE sector, including modern trends, innovations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent financial sense and background in financial management and planning.
- Proficient interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capacity to handle several projects at once and operate under pressure.
