Job Description:
The Head of Procurement drives the organization’s procurement strategies and supplier selection processes.
He/She also leads operational activities and champions process improvement initiatives in the procurement department.
- Strategize and lead the development of procurement strategies, ensuring they are fully aligned with the broader organizational goals and responsive to market changes.
- Drive relationship building with organizational network and external vendors for optimal procurement transactions and active engagement in the industry, to stay informed about market trends and emerging challenges.
- Guide development of the organization’s procurement targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with business development strategies.
- Formulate selection processes and criteria for prospective vendors.
- Develop and implement robust audit procedures for procurement documentation to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Drive corporate governance measures which include compliance with national and international procurement laws, ethical sourcing standards, or sustainability initiatives.
- Lead technology applications (like ERP systems, AI in supply chain management, or blockchain for transparency in procurement) to improve productivity and innovation.
- Formulate process solutions to innovate current work processes and continuous improvement through feedback loops from internal users and vendors.
- Establish clear and comprehensive criteria for vendor proposals to ensure alignment with organizational needs and standards.
- Direct team to source vendors that meet procurement requirements.
- Endorse the best vendors for negotiations following the organization’s selection processes.
- Direct negotiations of contract terms and conditions with preferred vendors.
- Forecast inventory needs based on the organization’s business needs and market demands.
- Endorse payment to vendors based on verifications of purchased product deliveries and reconciliations.
- Devise contract modifications based on vendor performance to meet the organization’s procurement requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Lead the department’s financial budgeting process to acquire funds for the department’s activities.
- Manage subordinates’ professional and career development.
- Manage the department’s recruitment and retention efforts.
- Direct review and analysis of work outcomes to determine the effectiveness of processes and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a Degree in related studies.
- Takes initiative and be able to work independently
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
