Job Description


Life Community Services Society is a mid-sized social service agency with a vision to enable every child to be the best that they can be, by empowering children and families through care and mentoring. We are looking for dedicated Caseworkers to join our dynamic Friends of Children & Youth (FOCY) team.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mentor children and youths aged 6 to 16 impacted by parental incarceration
  • Conduct intake assessment and provide casework and group work/activity-based intervention
  • Document and maintain case files, and prepare individualised care plans, progress and closure reports
  • Conduct evaluations with children and youths, for reporting to NCSS and/or other funders
  • Conduct monthly home visitations for children and their caregivers
  • Manage and support volunteers such as mentors and tutors
  • Collaborate with relevant agencies, schools, and other stakeholders to develop the best support for the children and youths
  • Participate in research, development, and evaluation projects led by lead caseworkers or social workers
  • Embrace and further the organisation’s mission and values


Skills, Competencies and Qualification

  • Have experience with community work and youth work.
  • Possess a Graduate Diploma/Degree in social work or a related field (preferable, though not required)
  • Passion for children and youths from vulnerable families
  • Ability to communicate genuinely with children to understand their needs and wants
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with caregivers and other stakeholders such as volunteer mentors/tutors to meet programme outcomes
  • A spirit of camaraderie while working as a team
  • Leadership and enthusiasm to guide children in both indoor and outdoor activities
  • Willingness to learn and apply acquired skills in your daily work
  • Willingness to travel for home visitations
