Our talent strategy is focused on unlocking the potential of all of our colleagues and with a significant business transformation underway we are looking for a commercially astute, highly collaborative and experienced Head of Talent Assessment to join our globally focused Talent, Learning and Resourcing Centre of Expertise.
In this role you will be responsible for defining, and delivering a refreshed assessment strategy that supports our business transformation and puts skills and technology at the heart of the colleague experience. You will lead a small team of Assessment Specialists and be the global practise leader for assessment solutions, offering pragmatic expertise and advice to HR colleagues and business leaders.
To be successful you will draw upon your deep technical expertise (and qualifications) in assessment and skills you have gained in building strong partnerships and working collaboratively with others. Critical to this role is the ability to balance your technical expertise with business needs, demonstrating the ability to join the dots and translating ideas into meaningful actions that move the business forward, at pace.
A background across a variety of HR disciplines, particularly in regulated industries will help you hit the ground running, along with experience in operating in complex, global organisations where balancing the needs of global and market specific contexts is key to overall success.

Key Responsibilities
Role Specific
- Define, and oversee the implementation of the Banks talent assessment strategy and approach, with specific emphasis on ensuring a future focused and practical approach that considers the needs of all stakeholders
- Be the global practice leader for assessment solutions, offering pragmatic expertise and advice that enables the business to meet performance objectives and workforce transformation goals
- Set the Bank standard and approach for talent assessment, engaging closely with Heads of HR and COE partners to deliver a robust approach to the usage of assessment that balances the needs of today and builds for the future
- Responsible for overseeing and running the Bankwide portfolio of assessment products and solutions (both selection and development), with focus on overall candidate / colleague experience, maximising impact from assessment insights and ensuring overall compliance with regulatory obligations
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in People Capability, Resourcing, Organisation Development, Diversity & Inclusion teams to ensure that assessment solutions are fit for purpose and leveraged in a way that supports the delivery of the Banks overall People Strategy
- Actively engage with HR colleagues and business leaders to use people insights from talent assessments as an part of an integrated approach to talent management, enabling the deployment of the Banks top talent into the areas of greatest opportunity
Function Specific
Strategy
- Partner with key stakeholders to influence, shape, and deliver cross functional careers and talent management priorities that drive value across the Bank
Business Engagement
- Act as the point of contact for a specified business area to provide strategic advisory, subject matter expertise and consulting capability to support the delivery of the Banks careers and talent management objectives and key results
- Partner with relevant HR stakeholders to drive consistency and impact of talent practises, processes and key messages across the Bank
- Leverage workforce data and insight to demonstrate impact, effectiveness and influence people and talent related decisions across the Bank
- Proactively form credible relationships and drive impact of the function through availability of data that influences decision making across the business
Processes
- Where required, take delegated responsibility as the GPO and Product Owner for specific Talent related HR processes, products and platforms
- Ensure relevant HR processes are defined and managed to appropriately manage operational risk, employee experience and business impact
People & Talent
- As a People Leader, lead direct reports in a way that is consistent with our Valued Behaviours and Leadership Agreement
- Set and monitor responsibilities for colleagues supporting delivery of the role objectives and key results, ensuring that continuous, balanced feedback is provided in line with performance goals
Risk Management
- Ensure effective first line identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role
Governance
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
- Maintain oversight of appropriate governance and controls, as they relate to the roles objectives and key results, and if necessary propose / implement changes as necessary
- Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon

Our Ideal Candidate
- This is a technical specialist role that requires 10 years plus of experience of extensive expertise and career experience in the HR and Occupational Psychology domain. The candidate is required to have (or be working towards) a MSc Occupational/Organisational/IO Psychology (or equivalent) qualification to be considered for this role.

- Human Resources Consulting - Knowledge of policies, considerations and processes of human resources (HR)planning and development; ability to plan and develop an organization's HR operations in order to increase individual and organizational effectiveness
- Change Management - Knowledge of and ability to align the organization's people and culture with changes in business strategy, organizational structure, technology and business processes
- Workforce Analytics - Knowledge of human resources (HR) and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions.
- Industry Knowledge - Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Effective Communication - Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
