Position Summary
Plan and execute (Manpower planning, Cost control, Attend Vessel Issue, Technical issue, achieve department target & KPI) and collaborate with supervisor and foreman for job execution.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Read and understand technical specifications, prepare job-list, work schedule, plan material take off and manpower planning of yard men and contractor for each given jobs. Report department head and update any special contractor (Vendor/Maker) requirements
- Order the material required as per material take off and co-ordinate with purchase department for timely delivery of the materials
- During job execution, supervise and provide technical solution to electricians.
- Ensure safety, discipline and welfare for all subordinates.
- Collaborate with ship crews and ETO to ensure that trade work carries out as per specifications and to the satisfaction of the owner/class & timely completion. Ensure good quality work and perfect safety. Ensure that owner acknowledged on AWRF for all additional works.
- Collaborate with engineering department for design and engineering requirement as and when required.
- Ensure that all trade work modification works are recorded with mark-up / red-line drawings to be made and approved by owner’s representative.
- Always maintain good housekeeping and Safety on board vessel & workshop. Ensure that all workers always follow safe work procedures
- Ensure that minimum wastage of materials and balance material to be accounted and returned to store at the end of the project.
- Prepare, setup and review department documents (RA, SOP, Internal & External auditing, OR) with line managers.
- Ensure all work completion reports are done by Ship in-charge (foreman/supervisor), verify & submit to owner Rep to get sign before handing over to commercial department on time (before vessel delivery).
- Monitoring vessel daily job deployment report to achieve target on time.
- Independent capable of tracing, identify and troubleshoot E&I related faults onboard vessels such as Generators, Sensors and Instruments and DP2 system.
- Perform other related jobs as assigned by DH.
- Ensure Permit to work system is followed strictly.
Job Requirements
- Able to read and understand electrical specification, control circuit and process P&ID
- Deep knowledge in marine and offshore navigation equipment, communication equipment and OSV DP2 system inclusive of class and SOLAS requirements.
- Understand the principles maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) of low tension main and emergency switch board, inclusive of protection devices, switch gears, synchronization, and load sharing.
