The Role:
The IB Diploma Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in meeting all the assessment requirements of the program collaboratively with all DP teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel students and parents on suitable subject selection, including alternative pathways and access arrangements.
- Ensure general rules, regulations and principles of the IB Diploma Program are followed.
- Support students to maintain a balanced work load across the programme by ensuring a published assessment calendar is published and adhered to.
- Design and lead appropriate training opportunities for experienced as well as new teachers.
- Monitor student progress in all subjects and appropriately counsels students for best personal attainment.
- Ensure teachers are fully aware and adhere to assessment requirements and deadlines set internally as well as externally by IBO.
- Develop strategies collaboratively to promote academic honesty, international mindedness and to develop attributes of the Learner Profile in students.
- Liaise with Heads of Department and subject teachers to have an overview of the learning experiences of the students.
- Monitor the delivery of the program to ensure all standards and practices are appropriately implemented.
- Support teachers to designing learning opportunities using a wide variety of effective strategies of teaching and learning for successful delivery of the program.
- Communicate with parents regarding regulations, requirements and the demands of the DP, including the internal assessment calendar and academic honesty policy.
- Obtain parental support for complying with all internal and external deadlines.
Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years in a senior leadership role in an international school environment, preferably leading the IBDP programme.
- Candidate must at least possess Master's degree in Education and a Professional Degree in Teaching/Teaching qualification certificates (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma)/Valid Teacher License/QTS.
- Must have strong understanding, knowledge and experience of IBDP. Experience of IGCSE in addition preferred.
- Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
- A passionate educator with the ability to deliver inquiry based learning.
