YSQ International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, with expertise in chromatography, spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, analyzing samples, and interpreting data to support product development, quality control, and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and validate analytical methods for product development, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Development of analytical methods for determining the physicochemical properties of active ingredients and improvement of these methods.
  • Maintaining a database of raw materials and samples and its updating.
  • Proper care and usage of equipment and the workplace, including maintenance of equipment to ensure proper calibration of equipment.
  • Analyse samples using a range of analytical techniques including GC-MS/FID, HPLC, ICP-OES/MS, Viscometer, and other common analytical equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental work and adhere to company safety and compliance protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve analytical issues and identify areas for method improvement and optimization.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and advancements in analytical chemistry.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and submissions, and work closely with the regulatory affairs team to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Compliance with health and safety rules, fire safety and internal regulations.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks / projects assigned by Senior Management/Board member.

Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Knowledgeable in the chemical analysis
  • Knowledgeable in use of various laboratory equipment including GC-MS and HPLC
  • Possess strong initiative and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Able to organize work in a systematic manner, responsible attitude, honesty in the implementation of assigned tasks, reliable and committed in undertaking assigned tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team, creative thinking in resolving issues, diligence in work attitude, and data accuracy.
  • Able to organize work in a systematic manner, responsible attitude, honesty in the implementation of assigned tasks, reliable and committed in undertaking assigned tasks.
  • Able to work under time pressure and to withstand stress.
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
