Responsibilities:
On-Site Support: Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting assistance for NetBackup solutions.
Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain NetBackup software and related components in client environments.
Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues related to backup and recovery processes, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, implement optimizations, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.
Training: Provide training to end-users and client IT staff on NetBackup best practices and usage.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, vendors, and internal teams to address complex technical challenges.
Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute NetBackup software upgrades, patches, and updates as needed.
Security Compliance: Ensure that NetBackup environments adhere to security policies and standards.
L2 Level Responsibilities: Handle more complex technical issues escalated from L1 support. Perform advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
Client Relationship: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction with NetBackup services.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience as a NetBackup Engineer or in a similar role with expertise in backup and recovery solutions.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in NetBackup or related technologies are often preferred.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Veritas NetBackup software and its components.
Strong understanding of backup and recovery processes.
Familiarity with storage technologies and data management.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex issues.
Availability: Willingness to work on-site and be available for on-call support when required.
