JOB PURPOSE
In line with the Head Office and regional policies, the MSC Cruises' strategy and the Sales objectives, the Sales Director South East Asia leads the Sales strategy, contributes to and implements the sales action plan for the region in order to achieve revenue, cost and other commercial targets to ensure the efficient running of the sales operations for the start-up for the region.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In line with the strategic guidelines of MSC Cruises, under the leadership of the VP Commercial Area, the Sales Director South East Asia is responsible for the following start-up activities:
- Leads, governs, coordinates and develops the MSC Sales strategy, including distribution, pricing and sales; in coordination with the headquarter in Geneva in South East Asia in order to optimize revenue, margin and market share
- Identifies new market potential and adapts quickly and effectively to changes in the market by prognosis and tactical planning;
- Identifies and evaluates business opportunities with strategic partners relevant to MSC Cruises as well as potential new customers;
- Develops sales plans;
- Leads negotiations with local partners and contractors and is in direct contact with MSC Cruises' major partners throughout the countries in scope;
- Participates in and organizes partner events in order to strengthen long term business relationships;
- Liaises with MSC's head office in Geneva to ensure the effective integration of the region business in the company's overall sales plans.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Excellent verbal and written English;
- University or comparable degree, ideally in tourism related field;
- Strong working knowledge in leading a country office and strong sales experience in a multinational environment;
- Strong knowledge of Sales and Revenue Management processes;
- Confident and competitive professional with at least 10 years' experience in people and team management;
- Good knowledge of the Asian and international cruise market;
- Good knowledge of the Asian tourism distribution structure esp. in the cruise industry;
- Personal contact network to middle and higher decision-making levels in tourism;
- Detailed knowledge in the preparation of revenue models and cost plans;
- Ability to recognize and identify new business areas and activities;
- Entrepreneurial thinking, conceptual strength as well as excellent communication and argumentation skills;
- Excellent soft, team management and leadership skills;
- Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities;
- Result orientation, flexibility and hands-on mentality;
- Adaptability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
