Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Programme Manager to lead our startup and ecosystem engagement programmes, including but not limited to The GEAR Residency Programme and Community Access Programme. This role is essential in managing the end-to-end operations of the programmes, including recruiting startups, managing The GEAR community, coordinating resources, facilitating mentorship, connections between startups and internal units, facilitating proof-of-concepts between startups and internal units, and ensuring the overall success of the participating companies. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop the programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management:
· Engagement Programmes: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the startup and ecosystem engagement programmes, including The GEAR Residency Programme and Community Access Programme. Collaborate with startup programme innovation partner(s) to deliver The GEAR Residency Programme.
· Startup Recruitment: Together with innovation programme partner(s), identify and recruit high-potential startups to participate in The GEAR Residency Programme, conduct outreach and marketing efforts to attract a diverse range of startups, and manage the application and selection process to ensure a high-quality cohort.
- Mentorship Facilitation: Facilitate connections between startups and experienced mentors. Manage mentor relationships and ensure productive and beneficial interactions. Organize mentorship sessions, workshops, and advisory meetings.
· Monitoring and Evaluation of Programmes: Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the success and sustainability of the programmes. Monitor and evaluate programme performance, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Performance tracking: Track and report on the performance of the programmes and participating startups. Analyze data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
Community Management
- Engagement: Build and maintain a vibrant and engaged community within The GEAR. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for startups, mentors, and other stakeholders. Coordinate and manage resources, including use of office space, and ensure startups have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed.
- Events: Organize community-building activities and events to enhance engagement and networking to promote open innovation agenda. Plan and execute workshops, networking events, and demo days. Coordinate with external partners and sponsors to enhance event impact. Ensure successful and impactful events that showcase the progress and achievements of participating startups.
Internal Collaboration
- Internal Business Unit Engagement: Build relationship with internal stakeholders and understand their needs. Identify pain points and translate requirements to inform the overall programme agenda. Increase support for open innovation-related activities.
- Proof-of-Concepts: Facilitate connections, proof-of-concepts and collaborations between startups and internal units. Act as a liaison between startups and various departments within the organization. Ensure seamless communication and cooperation between all parties.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's and / master’s degree in business, management, or a related field. Engineering background and entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
· Proven experience leading similar startup programmes in either private or public sector.
· Energetic and enthusiastic about the startup and technology landscape. Ability to “speak the language” of founders, partners and stakeholders.
· Demonstrated commercial and business acumen.
· Demonstrated track record of delivery in ambiguous environments.
· Ability to identify and pursue strategic opportunities.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
· Strong individual contributor.
Suggested Experience
5 to 10 years in related field.
