Job Overview:
- We are seeking a motivated and proactive Project Manager to manage mid-sized projects and assist in tracking our Core Banking portfolio. The ideal candidate will have some experience in project management and will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on project performance through effective data analysis and visualisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead and manage mid-sized projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and effective stakeholder communication.
- Portfolio Tracking: Assist with tracking and reporting for the Core Banking portfolio, including managing dashboards, project KPIs, and key milestones.
- Data Scripting & Automation: Write simple scripts (e.g., in Python or Excel VBA) to automate tasks such as data extraction, enrichment, and visualisation from JIRA.
- Example tasks include: Extracting lists of JIRA STORIES into Excel and writing VBA scripts to pull related data (e.g., number of defects, test cases linked to each story).
- Tracking changes in defect status (e.g., from IN PROGRESS to READY FOR UAT) using JIRA APIs and automating reports.
- Data Analysis & Visualisation: Use Excel Power Query, Power BI, or other analytical tools to clean, analyse, and visualise project data, such as burn-down charts, cumulative charts, and other project performance indicators.
- Utilize tools like Easy BI for project parameter analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project management or a related delivery role.
- Experience in managing mid-sized projects or being part of a project team is essential.
- Proficiency in Excel VBA and Python for automation, data extraction, and enrichment.
- Experience with JIRA and its APIs for project data manipulation.
- Data analysis with Power Query or Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
- Understanding of data visualisation (e.g., burn-down, cumulative charts).
- Strong organisational and tracking abilities for multiple projects.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of Easy BI or similar business intelligence tools.
