Engineer, Process Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Develop process knowledge based on customer requirements to demonstrate the feasibility of the application. This often requires rapid prototyping and/or product demonstration for clients.
  • Perform optics and laser experiments
  • Assess materials combinations and joining methods for best interconnect reliability
  • Development of new processes for interconnects from concept to deployment
  • Conduct research on semiconductor market trends and market requirement
  • Provide pre and post-sales technical support; working with the customer from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation.
  • Obtain practical hands-on experience with existing equipment. Gain a fundamental understanding of equipment functionality and usage.
  • Develop test plans and execute experiments to analyze and characterize bonding interconnect mechanisms.
  • Contribute to product development projects. Perform work in cooperation with marketing and other engineering functions (software, mechanical, systems)
  • Provide technical expertise through technical presentation, sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products.
  • Assist the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
  • Conduct new product capability assessment and validation.
  • Provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Enhance equipment capability through process-driven knowledge development.
  • Develop and create reference documents for process-of-record standards
  • Prepare technical reports as required. Present concepts, data, and recommendations to management or to customers and maintains reports, files, and records that are required by company policy and standard professional practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree / Masters Degree strongly preferred / PhD Degree welcome, in Material Science, Physics, , Mechanical or Electrical engineering
  • Knowledge in laser theory and operations is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with laser welding is a plus.
  • Experience in Manufacturing/ packaging/Design/Automation experience is a plus
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering or research development
  • Minimum 2 years of CAD experience (NX experience is a plus)
  • Sound engineering judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with statistical tools and statistical software (Excel, Minitab, etc) is a plus
  • Recent graduates with strong portfolio are welcome
  • In-depth knowledge of electro-mechanical system is a plus
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) is a plus
  • Experience with Ultrasonic bonding is a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication, interpretation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Adopts a Growth Mindset approach when facing challenges.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • May be required to travel locally/internationally to provide on-site technical support to customers, typically up to 10-25% annually.
