Job Description:
The Business Analyst (BA) plays a vital role in supporting the Product Owner and the squad in preparing and delivering requirements, specifications, and related data. This position is essential for delivering high-quality products and ensuring all documentation is thorough and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scope the System: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and squad members to ensure accurate granularity of requirements at the epic/story level.
- Translate Business Needs: Create models, diagrams, presentations, and other documentation to help the target audience understand business requirements effectively.
- Facilitate Communication: Foster communication at the team level to achieve consensus on scope, design, and implementation decisions.
- Validate Requirements: Conduct end-to-end (e2e) requirements validation through reviews, walkthroughs, and demos. Assist in writing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases, and train non-squad stakeholders if needed.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact the squad's overall health.
- Conceptual Modelling: Utilize expertise in conceptual modelling to see the big picture, envision solutions, and provide precise, managerial insights on diverse business topics.
- Conflict Resolution: Identify risks, resolve conflicts, and plan tasks effectively.
Skills Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 8-11 years of experience in functional analysis within Private Banking or Wealth Management. Knowledge of banking operations is advantageous.
- Platform Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Avaloq Core Platform; Avaloq certification is a plus.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all seniority levels, particularly with Legal, Compliance, and Information Security teams. A good understanding of regulatory requirements is essential.
- Domain Expertise: Good understanding of various modules such as Payments, Treasury (FX, MM), and finance domains including Stock Trading, Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, Trade/Client Compliance, Corporate Action processes, and Static Data management (Business Partner, Portfolio, KYC documents, etc.).
- Project Management: Experience in project management with knowledge of the complete application development lifecycle (planning, budget, approval, sourcing, monitoring, and implementation).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to independently develop and manage complex models. Proficient in the MS Office suite.
- Flexibility: Highly adaptable to manage a multi-faceted role with changing priorities and complex, time-sensitive tasks.
- Pressure Management: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Scripting Knowledge: Knowledge of Avaloq scripting and PL/SQL scripting is required.
- Methodology Familiarity: Understanding of application development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Tools: Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and HP ALM is a plus.
- Team Collaboration: A team player who actively collaborates and shares information.
