Job Description:
The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in supporting the Product Owner and the squad in delivering high-quality products by preparing and managing requirements, specifications, and documentation. The BA is essential for ensuring that the squad has well-prepared documentation and clear communication to meet business needs effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Scope the System: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and squad members to define and refine requirements specifications at the epic and story levels.
- Translate Business Needs: Create models, diagrams, presentations, and documentation that help the target audience understand business requirements.
- Facilitate Communication: Foster consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation strategies within the team.
- Validate Requirements: Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and demos to validate end-to-end requirements. Write and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases and train stakeholders as needed.
- Proactively Identify Risks: Recognize and address risks or issues that may affect the squad’s performance and overall health.
- Conceptual Modeling Expertise: Demonstrate the ability to see the big picture, envision possible solutions, and provide concise, precise, and managerial insights on various business-related topics.
- Conflict Resolution and Task Planning: Identify risks, resolve conflicts, and effectively plan tasks to meet objectives.
Skills Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 8-11 years of functional analysis experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management. Knowledge of banking operations is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with the Avaloq Core Platform; Avaloq certification is a plus.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management. Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Information Security teams is essential, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial modules (Payments, Treasury) and trading domains (Stock Trading, Equities, Bonds, Derivatives, Trade/Client compliance, Corporate Action process, Static Data).
- Project Management Skills: Experience managing the application development life cycle (planning, budgeting, approval, sourcing, monitoring, implementation).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to independently develop and manage complex models. Proficiency in the MS Office suite is required.
- Adaptability: Highly flexible and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Performance Under Pressure: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Scripting Knowledge: Proficiency in Avaloq scripting and PL/SQL scripting is required.
- Methodological Knowledge: Familiarity with development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) is essential.
- Tools Experience: Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and HP ALM is a plus.
- Team Collaboration: A strong team player who continuously collaborates and shares information to enhance team performance.
