Role Overview:
The Shift Process Technician operates complex process plants, including high-hazard plants, and other site services safely and efficiently. The technician follows standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure smooth plant operations, as well as loading/unloading processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate plant equipment and manage site services based on written and verbal instructions.
- Identify opportunities for safety and efficiency improvements and participate in improvement projects.
- Communicate effectively with production teams and other departments, including maintenance, planning, and logistics, via email, verbal, and written communication.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (SHE) standards by performing risk assessments, adhering to safety procedures, and reporting incidents.
- Make routine decisions for plant operations; escalate non-routine decisions to the Team Leader or Manager.
- Organize and plan tasks for the shift, ensuring proper shift handovers.
- Train and coach new employees on the job.
- Assist in maintenance tasks by preparing equipment for repairs and performing site-specific analytical tests.
- Respond to emergencies and follow site emergency procedures as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of production processes, chemistry, and equipment.
- Familiarity with computer systems that control plant activities (e.g., SAP, site-specific).
- Ability to work in a team, solve operational problems, and communicate data accurately.
- Experience in maintenance, analysis, and sampling is an advantage.
Education:
- Diploma in Chemical related subject.
