Job Description
The project involves fabrication and characterization of lithium niobate and barium titanate based photonic devices, including waveguides, Mach Zehnder interferometers, modulators, meshes of such devices, couplers, etc. for photonic computing purposes.
Integration and testing of devices includes measurement and mitigation of optical losses, optimization of processing recipes for electron beam lithography, laser writing, etching (both dry and wet), metallization, and development of integration strategies.
The job also involves commissioning of new cleanroom tools as needed under the project, working with vendors, training new staff members in cleanroom and laboratory operations, maintaining inventory of laboratory assets and laser licenses, and conducting periodic risk assessments.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in electrical engineering with relevant knowledge and skills in optoelectronics, nonlinear optics, and cleanroom fabrication including electron beam lithography, deposition, layout, etching, and optical bench testing.
- Open to Fixed Term Contract.
