The Therapy Aide is responsible for carrying out therapy programs under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist for our residents at the nursing home.
Responsibilities:
- Administer routine physical and occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- Assist residents for ambulation training through the use of walkers, braces or parallel bars.
- Assist residents to perform exercises through the use of Physiotherapy exercise equipment.
- Supervise residents in practicing activities of daily living and leisure participation.
- Plan and facilitate group exercise and activity sessions under the guidance of the Physiotherapist and Occupational therapist.
- Observe residents’ reaction during treatment, ensure safety and report them promptly to Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
- Perform administrative duties including documentation of residents’ exercises and activity sessions accordingly and attendance taking.
- Clean and sterilize equipment used and rehabilitation areas.
- Any other administrative duties that may be assigned.
Requirement:
- NITEC in Community care or WSQ Certificate in Therapy Service
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy (for non-local)
- Prefer someone who is bilingual to communicate with the residents.
