The National University of Singapore invites applications for Visiting Professor in the Division of Biomedical Informatics Department of Surgery Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Division of Biomedical Informatics at NUHS aims to transform healthcare through Big Data, machine learning, and advanced analytics. The division is dedicated to building a global network of biomedical informaticians and advancing personalized medicine.
Purpose of the post
The staff is to drive research in biomedical informatics, using bioinformatics and data science to analyze complex data and improve healthcare outcomes.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and contribute to new courses in biomedical informatics, integrating cutting-edge research and methodologies.
2. Advance research initiatives within the department by collaborating with faculty and students to explore new areas in biomedical informatics.
3. Facilitate cross-continent collaborations to promote international partnerships and exchange in the field of biomedical informatics.
4. Mentor faculty and students, sharing expertise and best practices in bioinformatics, data science, and computational biology.
Qualifications
The applicant should:
(a) Ph.D. in Mathematical Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
(b) Proven experience in biomedical data science, with expertise in bioinformatics, phylogenetics, and statistical analysis of complex datasets.
(c) Proficiency in programming languages and statistical software commonly used in bioinformatics and data science.
