The Tax Manager/Tax Executive plays an essential role within the APAC Tax team, working with the Tax Managers on direct tax and Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) related compliance for the APAC region, as well as serving as a key liaison between the APAC Tax team and cross-functional business stakeholders on various global and regional tax projects.
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Tax Compliance and BEPS
- Prepare tax schedules and managing tax compliance reporting and payment deadlines and other related matters for approximately 30 entities within the APAC region, including working with external tax consultants and reviewing their deliverables.
- Prepare monthly tax provisions for Singapore entities.
- Prepare and liaise with external tax consultants on Tax Risk Management & Control Framework for Corporate Income Tax (“CTRM”) for Singapore and similar Corporate Tax Governance Framework for the APAC region.
- Prepare responses to information requests by tax authorities.
- Assist with the implementation of BEPS-related compliance and processes for the APAC region, including collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline existing processes and systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and/or external system developers to translate business/tax requirements into IT solutions, as well as to test and implement tax technology solutions for BEPS-related compliance.
- Prepare training materials for cross-functional teams and users on process change improvements ensuring awareness and adherence to BEPS requirements.
- Keep abreast of changes and/or developments in tax laws and administrative practices for APAC, including BEPS-related developments, and analyse the corresponding implications.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of work processes and internal controls/procedures for corporate tax and BEPS compliance for the APAC region.
- Corporate Tax Advisory
- Advise on corporate tax matters, optimize the Group’s tax position and identify potential tax savings opportunities for the APAC region.
- Participate in various global and regional tax projects, including tax automation initiatives.
- Participate in tax incentive initiatives including liaising with the relevant government agencies and monitoring compliance with tax incentive conditions.
