Job Description:
A. Network and System Maintenance
- Oversee the daily operations of IT infrastructure, ensuring stability and accessibility of networks, servers, and hardware.
- Manage the installation and maintenance of software systems, ensuring compatibility and up-to-date versions across all user platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime and provide smooth operations for academic and administrative needs.
B. IT Support and Helpdesk
- Provide timely IT support to staff and students.
- Educate users on IT processes and usage of essential software tools, as needed.
C. Data Backup and Recovery
- Manage and monitor regular data backup schedules to safeguard critical institutional data.
- Maintain data storage solutions, with backups stored securely via the institution's IT platforms.
D. Cybersecurity and Compliance
- Manage cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, antivirus protection, and user access controls.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and institutional data security policies, safeguarding sensitive information.
- Regularly review and update security practices to address evolving cyber threats.
E. Vendor and Asset Management
- Manage relationships with external vendors for IT hardware, software, and support services, coordinating purchases and service agreements.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, tracking hardware, software licenses, and warranties to manage lifecycle replacements effectively.
F. Policy Development and Documentation
- Manage and enforce IT policies, particularly in areas of data backup, access management, and usage standards.
- Maintain documentation ranging from backup and recovery protocols, network configurations, and IT processes.
G. Strategic IT Initiatives
- Support the development and execution of strategic IT initiatives.
- Provide IT insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement key projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Management team to support the institution's strategic mission and goals.
- Provide support for other assignments as directed by the Vice President and President.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 8 years of progressive IT management and support experience, with 3 years of leadership role within an international private education setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge and proven experience ranging from data backup systems, IT infrastructure maintenance, user support, and cybersecurity.
- Strong understanding of Singapore’s data protection requirements and best practices in IT compliance.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to be operationally hands-on, proactive mindset, and committed to delivering results within stipulated timelines.
