About the Role:
The firm is looking for an Investment Manager of APAC Corporates. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Asia-Pacific Corporates team based in Singapore, and will play a key role in the identification, evaluation, recommendation, execution, and management of investment opportunities across Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will work closely with the team and be responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of transactions, including conducting due diligence and analysis, preparing the business case, and supporting in legal documentation. In addition, the successful candidate would be actively involved in post-investment asset management together with the portfolio companies’ management team.
About the Responsibilities:
Sourcing/screening of opportunities
• Assist with the initial screening of investment opportunities.
• Contribute to the preparation of investment documentation and analysis.
• Participate in sourcing efforts, by interacting with market participants and with potential investment targets.
Deal execution
• Identify and select advisors/liaise and work with external advisors as required.
• Contribute to the deal strategy and negotiations, together with the senior management.
• Lead and own due diligence workstreams (financial, commercial, legal, etc).
• Lead and own financial analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of investment committee documents.
Portfolio management
• Assist investee companies with financial and operational issues.
• Monitor the investee companies and work with relevant internal groups to ensure continued financial performance and return on investment, by:
- Regularly reviewing financials
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of relevant industries
- Potential growth strategies
- Potential M&A transactions
- Improve operational efficiency
• Contribute to the exit of investments.
About the Requirements:
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Private Equity Investments, Investment Banking, or related M&A work.
• Prior experience working in an ASEAN market outside of Singapore and Malaysia for a minimum of one year, required for understanding of local investment regimes, and for pre- and post-investment work in those markets.
• Excellent financial modelling skills. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven understanding of fundamental investment analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; experience presenting analyses to senior leaders.
• Team-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment. Strong integrity and work ethic.
