Job Description & Requirements

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As the Assistant Manager, EHS, you will be representing company in managing and overseeing all EHS related matters for construction, addition and alteration (A&A) and customer fit-out projects to ensure all legal and company EHS requirements are fulfilled. Additionally, you will also support country EHS manager in the management of operational EHS at the data centres.

· Manage and maintain full oversight of construction, A&A and customer fit-out projects to ensure company’s Group Minimum Standards (GMS) and any other

related company EHS standards and requirements, relevant statutory obligations and regulatory requirements, codes, and laws, are implemented, efficiently managed, and maintained throughout the duration of each project.

· Work in conjunction with the Contractor site management team to ensure the Project Safety Management System is implemented for construction and A&A projects.

· Conduct 6-monthly compliance audits for construction and A&A projects, prepare audit report and follow up on the findings with relevant stakeholders till closure.

· Attend daily Construction / A&A Project Coordination meetings led by Contractor Project Manager to ensure all safety matters are addressed for the activities scheduled.

· Collect and prepare monthly safety report for construction and A&A projects including required EHS metrics for data consolidation, e.g., man-hours worked, leading & lagging indicators, safety compliance status any other required information, etc.

· Work closely with and provide support to the Singapore Data Centre Operations Project Team and General Contractor in ensuring work activities are adequately planned and executed safely and in full compliance to applicable legal and company EHS requirements.

· Review and provide constructive input on projects as well as operational data centre related high-risk work processes and their relevant safety documents (e.g. risks assessments, safe work procedures, worker competencies, equipment licenses, etc); including the oversight of high-risk work execution (May occur on weekends / after office hours).

· Oversee all safety incidents or near misses that occur for projects and operational data centres to ensure they are duly reported and investigated in conformance with company Incident Management standards.

· Review injury/incident reports and investigations for completeness. In cases where dangerous occurrences or incidents with major injuries have occurred, to assist with onsite investigations within short notice.

· Perform regular EHS assurance walkdowns, task observations and inspections for project and operational data centre related activities; prepare findings report and follow up on actions till closure.

· Attend all essential project and operational data centre related EHS meetings / reviews and prepare meeting minutes as directed by the Country EHS Manager.

· Assist the Country EHS Manager in ISO45001 / BizSafe audits and certifications.

· Plan, develop and execute EHS programs, procedures and awareness activities for the Singapore data centres.

· Support any other EHS activities, initiatives and tasks as assigned by the Country EHS Manager for both projects and operational data centres.


Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree/ Tertiary Level Qualification in Engineering or related fields.

· Minimum 8 years of EHS management experience in Construction / Addition & Alteration type of works (post WSHO registration), with at least 2 years of experience in managing EHS in operations.

· Have operational safety management and program development experience.

· Data centre, facility management or manufacturing related EHS experience is an added advantage.

· Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

· Registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with the National Environment Agency (NEA), is preferred.

· Excellent communication and people skills.

· Good problem solving and analytical skills.

· Strong EHS technical knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Office.
