Senior EHS Manager

Wuxi Xdc Singapore Private Limited

Work Location: Tuas Biomedical Park

Job Summary:

This role acts as the subject matter expert and leader for the XDC site Environment, Health & Safety (EHS). The role includes the review of the EHS aspects of facilities and equipment design, performing physical inspections, and supporting system testing and commissioning. The scope also includes the development of SOPs, design, and implementation of XDC EHS programs in preparation for the operation phase. Additionally, this role will support the Singapore facility EHS team when collaboration and support for business are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS and security management systems, programs, and SOPs based on corporate EHS policies, standards, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support factory design review and provide professional and prompt input until acceptance.
  • Liaise with the EHS team globally to implement best practices.
  • Establish the ISO14001 Environmental Management System and ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Develop an Emergency Preparedness and Response plan in accordance with statutory requirements from SCDF and other regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and implement an EHS Training program for employees and contractors.
  • Develop and implement an EHS Inspection and Audit program, and track CAPA to closure.
  • Manage EHS compliance of contractors on site.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
  • WSHO and FSM certifications, preferably with other relevant EHS certifications.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in managing EHS (preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industries).
  • Proficient in local regulatory requirements and good industry practices.
  • Experience in the implementation of ISO14001 or ISO45001.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Preferably have experience with WuXi Bio.
  • Able to use English and Mandarin as working languages, as this role involves frequent communication with the site management in Wuxi, China.
  • Effective in working in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
