Roles and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Team Manager, monitor and ensure product delivery velocity with good & transparent communication
- Be the leader of the unit spearheading new projects with goals / vision aligned with HoD's direction, together with fellow data scientists, under the 5 pillars in the team (Forecasts x 2, Pipeline, Optimization and Visualisation)
- Provide guidance to junior staff in SG office and nurture them with the aim to build up a solid support force for data science-related product development
- Be the Product Owner for OASIS data pipeline maintenance, initiate and coordinate deployment of enhancement whilst overseeing the overall stability of the pipeline
- Ensure all products are delivered without exceptional results and address failure with Product Owner within tolerance timeline
- Initiate enhancement of ONE in-house forecast solution with information provided by counterparts/front office through meetings, visits and inquiries
- Follow up on poor forecast accuracy locations and provide suggestions on how to improve the current logics and system
- Analyze forecast inquiries from local offices and RHQ, proposing enhancements to the current logics/models
- Respond to the forecast system users' inquiries with regards to the system forecast value background
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Analytics or Mathematics
- Good knowledge of Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Machine Learning
- Proficiency in staff management and related managerial techniques
- Proficiency in Python/SQL, capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Proficiency in Cloud Platform (GCP is preferred)/ Google Suite (Apps Script is a plus)/ Github/ Jira/ Scrum framework
- Good knowledge of data engineering that covers data governance, database architectures and data pipelines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis to a non-technical audience
- Strong problem-solving and risk analysis skill to analyse ONE's internal system data as well as the forecast system background data
- Proficiency to review complex information, perform comparative analysis, and make recommendations based on findings
- Ability to perform BI analytics to present insightful messages with follow up actions
- Minimum 5 years' experience in SaaS product development preferred; shipping knowledge will be advantageous
