Engineering Internship

The intern shall assist other Support Engineers in providing SAFRAN Electronics Asia Pte Ltd (SEA) on-site maintenance and support for ad-hoc projects. This consists of providing prime solutions technical support to the various Business Units and Repair Workshops.

More precisely and depending on the workload and priorities, it may include:

· Support existing repair capabilities by solving issues or discrepancies which may arise, in order to resume Operation activities as soon as possible.

· Help trouble shooting of toolings, test benches, fixtures etc.. sourcing for material, suppliers, 3rd parties, alternatives.

· Take part in the new repair capability building process: the intern will perform engineering studies (feasibility, cost vs benefit, Technical Publication analysis, etc…) and build up justification file to present to management and help making decisions.

· Specify, develop, integrate and validate chosen solutions

· Assist the Project Manager for the assign project, monitor the progress of the task, take part in projects’ milestones review, report advancement, track investments and expenses, monitor contractors and suppliers, initiate maintenance plans.

· Once the solution is launched, the intern will take an active role into sourcing for materials and equipments, request for quotations manage suppliers and contractors in France, Singapore and others.

· Be a driving force in Integration and Validation campaigns, Commissioning, First Article Inspections.

· Draft self-assessment documents, and liaise with QA for smooth airworthiness application and repair capability integration.

· Update Definition file and configuration management. Take part in calibration procedures.

· Communicate daily with Management, provide technical & operational service data

· Comply with and implement all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations as prescribed by law and company’s policies.

· Actively participate and contribute to HSE initiatives & Corporate HSE programs and in HSE risk communications & mitigations.

· Take a pro-active approach, initiate creative solutions and assist the company in implementing Innovation, Continuous Improvement projects, LEAN operations, and applying lessons-learned from previous or bench-marked experiences

· Develop excellent relationships across multiple organizations & with all levels of workshop and other SEA personnel.

· Support for ad-hoc tasks when required.


Requirements and/or Preferred Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate studying for a Degree in Aerospace, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven track record of projects with design and wiring of electro-mechanic set-up
  • Proficient in: Design of mechanical parts
    • Power Supply distribution
    • Analog and Digital Electronics
    • Reading, understanding and producing technical drawings

Excellent communications skills. Pro-active, outspoken and capable of developing excellent relationships across multiple department and stakeholders

  • Fluent in French would be a plus, due to frequent interaction with the Original Equipment Manufacturer in France
  • Well versed in written and spoken English as all the project documents and other interaction with SEA staff will be in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications
  • Familiar with network communication, Control systems engineering, Signal treatment, CAD software and project management
