Business Development Executive

As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for driving the company’s revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and optimising sales processes.

You will work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams to develop and implement effective business strategies. Your goal will be to expand the client base, increase revenue, and strengthen our market presence.


Key Responsibilities:


Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitor activities, and market needs.
  • Identify emerging markets and business opportunities to target for potential growth.
  • Analyse customer segments and preferences to refine the company's value proposition.

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition:

  • Identify Potential Leads: Utilize various tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, CRM systems, trade publications, and industry events) to build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Outbound Prospecting: Engage in cold calling, emailing, and social media outreach to initiate contact with decision-makers and stakeholders in target companies.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to connect with potential clients and partners, enhancing the company's visibility and market reach.
  • Qualifying Leads: Assess and qualify potential leads based on their needs, budget, and decision-making timelines to prioritise high-value opportunities.
  • CRM Management: Maintain detailed records of lead interactions, follow-up activities, and next steps using CRM software to ensure efficient lead tracking and conversion.

Sales & Negotiation:

  • Develop and deliver compelling pitches and presentations tailored to the specific needs and pain points of prospects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft customised proposals that align with client requirements and demonstrate the value of our offerings.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to close deals and achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals and follow up with clients.
  • Fulfilment of sales orders by an existing customer.
  • Liaise with logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Liaise with finance to ensure timely invoicing and payments are received from clients.
  • Work closely with marketing on new product developments as required.
  • Process purchase and sales orders.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and creating opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, providing them with ongoing support, updates, and solutions to their business challenges.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration:

  • Work with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and materials that align with business development goals.
  • Collaborate with the product team to provide market feedback and insights to improve and customise product offerings.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Sales Performance Tracking: Regularly update sales metrics, including lead conversion rates, sales pipeline status, and revenue growth, using CRM tools and data analytics software.
  • Weekly/Monthly Reports: Prepare detailed reports on business development activities, including lead generation performance, sales achievements, and upcoming opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Market Analysis Reports: Generate reports highlighting market trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for expansion.
  • Forecasting: Analyse data to forecast future sales, set targets, and develop action plans to bridge any gaps in reaching sales goals.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in business development to enhance personal skills and contribute innovative ideas to the company’s strategy.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to improve lead generation techniques, sales strategies, and CRM management skills.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM software and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and achieve targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
