Production Engineer

Position Summary:
The Production Engineer is responsible for improving the production technology of the EVAL site which will be launched in second half of 2026. The Production Engineer supports the production team for identifying, investigating, and resolving production issues in technical aspects.
The Production Engineer leads technology for process control (DCS, SIS), operation condition, and product quality improvement and joins project work related to production technology development and improvement. Until the startup of EVAL production line, training and learning opportunities of EVAL production technology is provided by experienced members in Company.
The Production Engineer will be a member of the commissioning and startup team of new EVAL plant and is responsible for designing and optimizing the process condition and process control system (DCS) and supports other production team members to achieve safe and stable commissioning and startup of new EVAL plant.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and update all process control documents, procedures and operation condition sheet in consultation with Production Superintendent and Day Supervisors from Operation.
- Identifying, analyzing, trouble shooting and improving process efficiency, equipment performance, product yield, capacity, quality, process material uses and utilities consumption.
- Manage and improve process control system (DCS, SIS) and process data logging system.
- Support trial production and test run of new grade, new process and equipment with Production Technology Engineer.
- Optimize plant operating efficiency, yield optimization and energy conservation with feasibility study, make the necessary field test to verify the result.
- Provide technical support for Silo & Packaging process, including corrective measure for customer complaint in technical viewpoint
- Lead process safety assessment (HAZOP, LOPA, etc.) and support HSE department technically.
- Submit reports’ finding and recommend modification, improvement and potential investment projects such as debottlenecking, environmental and cost reduction activities (i.e. reduction or more efficient usage of utilities).
- Coordinate with technical section for process simulation, evaluation, investigation, performance & yield optimization
- Perform basic engineering design for all potential investment projects, prepare marked up P&ID’s and the required technical information for cost estimation purpose.
- Coordinate with Technical department all plant improvement and modification activities working closely with Technical Process engineer to prepare detailed engineering design, prepare specification and requisitions for major equipment purchase, review of vendors’ document, conduct hazard analysis, performance tests and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with Technical department for regular update of P&ID’s, instrument list and equipment list.
- Communicate with global EVAL process improvement team to build synergy for further technical updates of KAP EVAL plant.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant engineering/production work experience in Chemical industry.
- Experience in designing or optimizing the process control system of chemical plants.
- Basic Engineering Skill with utilizing process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID).
- Knowledge of mass and heat balance calculations of chemical plants.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree in chemical engineering
- Knowledge and experience in chemical process simulations (e.g. polymerization, other reaction process, distillation, drying, and so on)
- Technical understanding of polymer extrusion process
- Knowledge of DCS programming and parameter tuning (PID control)
- Experience in lean manufacturing methods (e.g. 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM)
- High proficiency in Excel including VBA, macros, or other related software engineering tools.
- Experience with leading Capex projects
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC), Process safety assessment (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, QRA, etc.), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
