The Supervisor oversees large-scale operations, assists in resource planning and deploys manpower for each shift. The individual also takes charge of lashing operations that secure cargo on vessels.
Other responsibilities include berthing and unberthing vessels, carrying out wharf operations like locking and unlocking containers, and assisting with water bunkering operations. The Port Operations Supervisor uses IT systems and planning tools to aid planning. Other duties include resolving day-to-day issues and proposing improvements to workflow to enhance productivity and efficiency in port operations. The job requires an individual who is well organised, able to multitask, and comfortable with working outdoors.
