Reporting to Ops Lead, oversees system health, automation, and performance monitoring, as well as leading a team responsible for managing critical infrastructure and troubleshooting.
Job Scope:
System Administration:
Expertise in system administration of Windows and Linux servers, including system configuration, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Experience with AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage, and related cloud services, including autoscaling and backup.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Deep understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, including services like EC2, RDS, EBS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM. Experience managing hybrid cloud environments, including integration between on-premises systems and cloud resources. Knowledge of AWS-specific tools for monitoring and management, such as CloudWatch and AWS Systems Manager.
Monitoring and Performance Management Tools:
Hands-on experience with system and application monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
Incident Management and Troubleshooting:
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for both cloud and on-premises environments, including diagnosing performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, CPU spikes, and network issues.
Log Management and Analysis:
Expertise in managing logs for audit, security, and performance purposes using tools such as AWS CloudWatch Logs.
Security and Compliance:
Knowledge of security best practices for system hardening, patching, and vulnerability management. Familiarity with AWS security tools such as AWS Security Hub, AWS IAM, and Amazon Inspector.
Skillset Requirements:
- AWS resource utilization analysis, capacity planning, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in managing changes to systems with minimal disruption to operations, utilizing robust testing and deployment practices.
