Plant Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary

Position coordinates and performs the daily operations of receiving all raw materials required by the department, as well as performing any supply chain duties as required while meeting all corporate and site compliance requirements. The position maintained accurate raw material and finished goods inventory counts in an efficient and organized warehouse.

Essential Functions

  • Checks stock levels and orders all raw materials in an accurate, safe and efficient manner while adhering to all Government, Corporate, and site regulations, rules and guidelines.
  • Suppliers sourcing for existing and new direct spend materials
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of all shipping/receiving activities.
  • Source and purchase materials of good / lowest possible market price
  • Material demand coordination and optimum purchases execution
  • Purchase requisition and purchase order processes execution
  • Monitoring of open purchase orders follow up and in time deliveries
  • Monitor the expected arrival date of open purchase order
  • Support in purchasing of non-inventory materials (indirect purchase)
  • Co-ordinate with material planning demand to cope with customers order delivery time schedule
  • Co-ordinate with freight forwarder and transporter for import materials and local collection.
  • Partnering with account payables and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve vendor invoice issues.
  • Hold stock at supplier location and only deliver on demand for 1 to 2 weeks in advance.
  • Understands, promotes and complies with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.
  • Fulfills Emergency Response (ER) functions, roles and responsibilities in accordance with site emergency response plan.
  • Assists as necessary in ensuring that all departmental procedures are accurately maintained.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of SAP as applicable to department.
  • Works with Broker to resolve border issues and arranges routing that is cost effective.
  • Attends all safety, toolbox and other mandatory meetings.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and frequently move more than 250 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
  • Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and explosives.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
