Our client in the Food & Agribusiness is looking to hire a Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
The CTO will provides strategic vision and leadership in the development and implementation of comprehensive information technology programs, initiatives and roadmaps that directly support and accelerate the organization’s strategic business objectives and ensures alignment between IT infrastructure, systems, services, data management, and capabilities with both the organization’s immediate and long-term business requirements. The CTO champions innovation, optimizes operational efficiency, and drives digital transformation while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the BITS department and across the organization.
Strategic IT Leadership
- Develops and implements a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the overall business strategy, focusing on innovation, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborates with other C-level executives to understand business needs and translate them into actionable technology solutions.
- Stays abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Manages the organization’s information technology (IT) requirements and leads the organization to navigate its way through digital transformation.
Infrastructure Management
- Oversees the design, implementation, maintenance, and sustainability of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centers, cloud environments, and end-user devices.
- Ensures the infrastructure is secure, reliable, scalable, and able to support current and future business needs.
- Systems Integration and Optimization
- Facilitates the seamless integration of various IT systems and applications to streamline operations and improve data flow across the organization.
- Identifies and implements opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Leads integrating diverse technologies and adopting new solutions to enhance business capabilities and drive innovations.
Technology Investments
- Evaluates and recommends technology investments aligned with the organization's strategic goals and delivers a measurable return on investment (ROI).
- Manages IT budgets and ensures resources are allocated effectively to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Research the organization’s technology requirements, balancing long-term needs alongside its immediate ones.
IT Operations & Service Delivery Management
- Oversees the IT operations of the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring their stability, availability, and performance. This covers the full cycle from developing and implementing IT operations policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Establishes service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the quality and efficiency of IT services.
- Leads the IT team in providing timely and effective support to end-users, resolving technical issues, and ensuring business continuity.
- Manages IT vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and performance standards.
Data Management
- Leads a range of data-related functions to include data management, data quality, and creating the organization’s data strategy and governance.
- Partners with business heads of the organization to transform data into business value and drive data-related business change.
Innovation and Digital Transformation
- Drives a culture of innovation within the IT team, encouraging experimentation and exploration of new technologies.
- Champions digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer experiences, streamline business processes, and cost reduction.
Team Leadership & Development
- Identify and develop future leaders through mentoring, coaching, and targeted development opportunities, ensuring a robust succession pipeline for critical roles of the department.
- Timely cascades department scorecard/annual goals and ensures performance expectations are established and clearly communicated across the department/team.
- Provides regular feedback, and conducts performance evaluations to ensure individual and team accountability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Champions the growth and development of team leaders by providing guidance, mentorship, coaching, and opportunities to enhance their leadership capabilities and effectively deliver on functional responsibilities
Qualification & Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) preferred
- At least 15 year of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex, dynamic environments preferably in a manufacturing multinational company
- Experience in transitioning multi-country & multi-site companies from non-existing/archaic IT environments to mature state IT environments.
- Proven record and experience in developing IT policies and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet the objectives of excellence in a dynamic business environment
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale technology projects, multi-country IT infrastructure, IT budgets, software development and systems architecture including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) eg. SAP
- Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience driving digital transformation initiatives, leveraging cloud technologies, and implementing data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in controllership, planning, designing, building and/or running IT operations
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels, effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and demonstrating strong team player qualities
- Proficient in vendor management and contract negotiations
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support multi-country operation
