Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with expertise in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and a strong background in converting reports from SSRS to Power BI. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in business intelligence and reporting, with a focus on migrating legacy reporting systems to modern BI platforms. This role will be crucial in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Lead the migration of reports from SSRS to Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and seamless transition.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Rebuild and optimize existing SSRS reports for improved performance and usability within Power BI.
- Write complex DAX queries, create data models, and manage data relationships in Power BI.
- Build and manage efficient ETL processes using SQL or other data extraction tools to support reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in report design, visualization standards, and data governance.
- Perform data analysis and provide insights to improve business processes and decision-making.
- Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, and business analysts to design scalable data solutions.
- Provide user training and support for Power BI report development and utilization.
- Maintain and troubleshoot SSRS reports during the migration process, ensuring no disruption to existing business operations.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in developing reports using Power BI and SSRS.
- Proven experience in converting SSRS reports to Power BI, including data transformation and visualization.
- Strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write complex queries.
- Knowledge of Power BI Service, including workspaces, datasets, and scheduled refreshes.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools for loading and transforming data into Power BI.
- Ability to design user-friendly and visually appealing dashboards that communicate key business insights.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
