Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning of the annual budget and docking of vessels for the Engineering Department.
- Assist in the recruitment and deployment of maintenance personnel and the performance of crew members.
- Assist in special projects and purchase of spares for emergency repairs.
- Responsible for the day-to-day duties on assigned vessels, which include:
- Vessels’ repair and maintenance.
- Plan regular maintenance and repair work schedules.
- Prepare docking lists, repair schedules, and docking costs.
- Arrange and list spares required for each overhaul and planned docking.
- Recommend and obtain required bi-monthly quantities and types of lube oil.
- Obtain quotation of planned repair work and major purchase of spares/equipment.
- Monitor the availability of dock spares for dockings.
- Supervise vessel docking and repair works.
- Analyze engine defects and report to the Engineering Senior Manager / Assistant Manager.
- Attend to Government / Class Surveyor and MPA representative during the vessel’s docking survey and Harbour Craft Inspection.
- Keep proper records of all repairs, overhauls, equipment and spares of each assigned vessel.
- Liaise with Operations an opportune period to repair defects on vessels.
- Organize repairs of Sub-contractors’ work at various work sites.
- Attend to emergency “call up” on breakdowns during / after working hours.
- Conduct sea trials after each repair has been completed and to ensure engines/machineries are in good working condition before handover.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Marine Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and good organization skills
