The Video Journalist will create custom content for Our Grandfather Story’s verticals and related social platforms. We’re seeking a creative-minded producer who is passionate about both digital media and native advertising.
Candidates should be interested in what makes someone share and how people communicate online.
The ideal candidate is interested in learning every part of the creative process: generating ideas for a variety of formats, shooting, editing and publishing. Candidates should also be proactive workers who are motivated and independent.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Research and pitch fresh and relevant content ideas and video concepts for OGS’s YouTube and Facebook pages
- Produce & shoot videos for social media publications
- Research and pitch relevant content ideas for production
- Operation of camera, lighting and audio equipment for shoots
- Handle uploads through our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube publishing processes
- Write social copies for publication
- Assist with file management, footage and assets organization
Requirements:
- Experience with camera handling & lighting setups
- Prior experience in video editing is a plus
- Interest in telling local stories, documentaries and explainers
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic
