Role Overview:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all compliance requirements relating to the firm’s Asia commodities business
  • Provide counsel to staff in relation to day-to-day compliance-related questions
  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure Asia commodity trading activities remain in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Assist with enforcing compliance policies as it applies to the firm’s business on a day-to-day basis
  • Monitor regulatory developments and stay ahead of them to update compliance policies and procedures as required
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and exchanges
  • Develop and manage the ongoing enhancement and implementation of compliance training programs
  • Work with the Surveillance Team to enhance existing surveillance systems and protocol and suggest new surveillance approaches and ways to implement
  • Keep track of industry leading compliance practices and adopt and implement such practices to continually enhance the firm’s compliance program
  • Escalate matters to the global Compliance leaders and the regional Business leaders as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of commodities compliance experience in commodity trading houses
  • Strong working knowledge of physical and financial commodity trading, products, and platforms
  • High standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that is continuously growing
  • Must be highly collaborative and possess excellent writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and research skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
