The Procurement Executive plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement of equipment, services, and supplies for our fleet. This position involves close collaboration with the Purchasing Manager, vessel crew, and suppliers to meet the operational needs of our ships while adhering to company guidelines and industry regulations.
What you will be doing:
- Assist the Procurement Manager in daily procurement activities, handling ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Develop comprehensive plans for acquiring equipment, services, and supplies, considering factors such as cost, quality, availability, and lead times.
- Review existing administrative procedures and systems, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency in procurement processes.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with the organization's purchasing guidelines, procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
- Track costs and expenses related to procurement, contributing to the preparation of accurate budgets.
- Arrange timely and cost-effective shipments of stores and spares via air, sea, and road freight to both local and international ports.
- Conduct occasional inventory and storeroom inspections on ships to understand crew needs, maintain positive relationships, and address procurement-related issues.
What we are looking for:
- Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or related field.
- 1 year of experience in shipping operations or a similar role. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge in technical shipping management is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Ship Procurement System
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
