Job Description: This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to various animal patients, including advanced nursing skills, diagnostic imaging, and patient care management. Collaboration with the veterinary team is essential for optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide triage and assist with admitting new cases
- Comfortably restrain patients for examinations and treatments
- Manage diverse workloads and prioritize patient care
- Perform advanced nursing skills: anaesthesia monitoring, radiography, dispensing controlled drugs
- Aid in anaesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Assist internal medicine vets with inpatients, including ICU cases
- Involved in diagnostic imaging: radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy
- Recognize changes in patient status and adjust care plans
- Interpret lab test results and report to clinicians
- Maintain meticulous records, especially for anaesthesia and hospitalization
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Nurse or equivalent qualification
- Experience in an emergency or specialist veterinary hospital is a plus
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage high-stress situations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
