They have a replacement counsel role covering ASEAN member countries. The region’s business focuses on delivering connected solutions that integrate sensor technology, software, and services.


Responsibilities

As a Compliance Counsel within the APAC Compliance team, the role will report directly to the Regional Head of Compliance. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Advisory Role: Provide compliance guidance to management and team members on a variety of topics, ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations. Participate in projects, offering support during due diligence and integration phases.
  • Monitoring and Control: Oversee the compliance management system, conducting internal investigations of potential regulatory violations and recommending appropriate actions. Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our compliance programs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess compliance risks, focusing on anti-bribery and anti-corruption measures. Collaborate with local management to promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Training and Communication: Develop and deliver training sessions on compliance topics, ensuring awareness and understanding among employees. Facilitate effective communication regarding compliance issues within the organization.
  • General Support: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Head and maintain a willingness to travel as necessary.

Requirements

  • Ideally a commonwealth lawyer but open to non-qualified legal and compliance professionals (law degree upwards). At least 5 PQE equivalent in terms of experience.
  • Relevant experience in legal, compliance, internal investigations, preferably within a multinational corporation.
  • Broad knowledge of anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws and regulations.
  • Strong English proficiency, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • A high level of integrity, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication across all organizational levels and cultural contexts.
  • A self-starter who is confident in decision-making and can work independently while being a collaborative team member.
