The SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) is an enabling platform for global health activities across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC). The Institute aims to address current and emerging health challenges across ASEAN member states and in other Asian countries. Working in collaboration with partners, SDGHI seeks to tackle prevalent health challenges, strengthen health systems and better insulate countries from pandemics and disease threats.


We are recruiting a Research Assistant to support the Regional Collaborating Centre team that is responsible for setting up hubs in the region that aim to consolidate, coordinate and catalyse global health projects.

The selected candidate will be expected to work collaboratively across functional departments at Duke-NUS Medical School and SingHealth, and with key internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent should ideally be comfortable working in a matrixed team and be ready to work in a fast-moving, fast-changing and dynamic environment.


The responsibilities of the role are to: -

  • Provide support to the grant management process, monitoring progress of research projects and grant utilisation
  • Provide regular progress reporting of potential, new and ongoing global health projects.
  • Contribute to project management, presentations and publications of global health research work
  • Assist with literature review in various global health research projects
  • Assist with managing and facilitating receipt of grants and donations and track their utilisation.
  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings between Principal Investigators within the AMC and partnering institutions in the region.
  • Support the organisation of visits by and to partnering institutions with SingHealth’s International Collaboration Office.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences or other related disciplines with an aptitude for research
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Entry level candidates may also be considered
  • Knowledge in health sciences will be beneficial.
  • Prior experience working with institutions in low and middle income countries, preferably in Asia, would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work with stakeholders and team members across various functions and levels in the organisation.
  • Highly motivated individual and able to work independently in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting with strong organisational and management skills.
  • A good command of written English is required for this role.
