The role involves leading a team to implement effective controls and efficient workflows for individual client and entities/corporate account onboarding, processing, and maintenance, leading to both compliance to regulatory requirements as well as better turnaround time.
Key responsibilities include conducting Sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media screenings to ensure compliance with KYC and AML regulations, conducting periodic Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews, and performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and reviewing escalations. This also includes ensuring that the client and account information is up to date for regulatory reporting such as FATCA and CRS reporting. When there are escalations, you will need to work closely with Compliance and Business Development divisions on resolving them through effective communications with the different departments.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing staff training and developments
- Process reviews and automation of manual tasks
- Drafting and reviewing process documentations
- Plan and coordinate with IT to execute implementations of system enhancements, including performing User Acceptance Testing.
- Participate in internal and external audits pertaining to client and account onboarding
The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and communicate to all levels of the organization, including sales, legal and compliance, is critical in this role.
