Job Responsibilities:
- Involved in tendering exercise right up to completion to select bidders, preparation of tender documents and tender submission as well as contract award.
- Take-off quantities, prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ, drawings and specifications for the calling of quotations).
- Source for sub-contractors and suppliers, quantity measurement, costing and estimation for both pre-contract and post contract.
- Pre and post tender/contract negotiation, administration, and monitoring.
- Track changes to the Design/ Construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Price and forecast the cost of different materials required for the project.
- Procurement responsibilities including tender document preparation, calling for quotation for sub-contract works, evaluate, and compare costs before awarding the works for sub-contract package.
- Follow up on invoice preparation, purchase order, work order, sub-contract agreement and letter of award to sub-contractors and/or suppliers.
- Monitor and evaluate work progress and assess sub-contractor’s progress payment claims and variation order claims before certification. This will include contract administration for any variation or change for both Sub-contracts and Main Contracts.
- To follow up on monthly progress claims in a timely manner.
- Involved in respective site, client, and consultant meetings.
- Liaise closely with project sites for related claims.
- Attending Virtual or Face to Face Weekly Progress/ Contracts/Sales Meetings and Reporting.
- Finance reporting/update to Finance Department.
- Perform other QS-related duties.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of work experiences in quantity surveying or cost management role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement in same or similar industry.
- Very strong capability in vendor management and contracting in same or similar industry.
- Able to drive development of organisation-wide Procurement SOP, including service agreement / contract reviews of various projects.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software/tools, involves in sourcing and purchasing, billing etc.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
