Control Room Operator Functions:
1. Set and adjust indicating, controlling, or timing devices, such as gauging instruments, thermostat, gas analyzers, or recording equipment
2. Move controls to adjust feed and flow of liquids and gases through equipment in specified sequence.
3. Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, and time of prescribed reaction, according to knowledge of equipment and process
4. Activate pumps, agitators, reactors, blowers, or automatic feed of materials
5. Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, or product to regulate or maintain specified conditions
6. Mix chemicals according to proportion tables or prescribed formulas
7. Record operational data such as temperature, pressure, ingredients used, processing time, or test results, in operating log
8. Read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions, safety rules, operating procedures and product recipes
9. Use a computer graphical interface to control Programmable Logic Controller
10. Operate or tend auxiliary equipment, such as heaters, scrubbers, filters, or driers, to prepare or further process materials
11. Operate and monitor utility system
12. Reside as an active Emergency Response Team member
Field Operator Functions:
1. Operate valves and pumps to admit or drain specified amounts of materials, impurities, or treating agents to or from equipment
2. Flush or clean equipment, using steam hose or mechanical reamer
3. Draw samples of product and sends to laboratory for analysis
4. Perform general clean up and maintain good housekeeping in order to keep working areas clean, organized, and safe
5. Patrol and inspect equipment or unit to detect leaks and malfunctions
6. Weigh or measure specified amounts of materials
7. Read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions, safety rules, operating procedures and product recipes
8. Use a computer graphical interface to control Programmable Logic Controller
9. Load and unload tank trucks and drums containing hazardous and non-hazardous materials
10. Dump prescribed solid, granular, or powdered materials into equipment
11. Perform incidental maintenance as required to troubleshoot processes and to keep processes running properly
12. Lock out processing equipment to make sure maintenance can safely repair processing equipment
13. Perform laboratory analysis for waste water shipments
14. Train new Chemical Operators on job functions
15. Reside as an active Emergency Response Team member
