The objective of the career trial at BreadTalk is to provide comprehensive hands-on experience in bakery operations, customer service, product quality, team collaboration, sales, and personal development to assess suitability for a long-term career with the company.
Career Trial Activities Plan
Details of Activities / Tasks
Orientation:
- Brief on the Company's Vision, Mission and Core Values
- Brief on Job expectations
- Understand Grooming Standards
- Brief on SOP for uniform standards
- Brief on Code of Conduct
- Brief on Cash Control Policy
- Brief on Handling of Company Properties Policy. Food Safety:
- Practise food safety and hygiene procedures.
Lobby and Kitchen: - Able to show the different areas in the outlet for both lobby and kitchen
- Brief on product knowledge
- Brief on product movement and sales pattern
Opening tasks:
- Brief on outlet opening time and prepare to open outlet
- Perform counter set-up
- Prepare for the opening of the outlet by ensuring cleanliness, operating of lighting and setting up of POS system (Cashier)
- Perform display and present products in conformance to Maintain DisplaySOP
- Perform check on product shelf life and ensure compliance
Cashiering and Lobby Service - part1:
- Perform delivery of customer service in accordance with the company's expectations
- Able to apply cash control policy
- Perform daily banking in accordance with cash controlpolicy
- Demonstrates warm and friendly environment to customers
Cashiering and Lobby Service - part2:
- Perform POS system (Cashier) functions and transactions such as managing credit card, cash, grab pay,fave pay, promotions and delivery transactions
- Perform promotion and upselling of products to the customer
Cashiering and Lobby Service - part3:
- Brief on the right image projection to customers
- Perform handling of customer interactions such as answering customer queries on products, attending to customer requests and complaints
- Perform dispense of trays of bread and packing of breads
Closing Tasks:
- Perform proper closing procedures in accordance with the Closing SOP
- Perform closing reports
- Perform waste count procedures during closing and analyze the impact
- Perform proper storage of goods in accordance with SOP
Hygiene and Cleanliness:
- Perform cleaning and washing of service and packing areas such as trays, tongs, cloths, tables, bread shelves, cake shelves, fridges and knives based on SOP
- Perform cleaning and clearing of waste and rubbish bags
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of work areas and stations
Sales-driven and cost-conscious:
Understand the cost of goods sold (COGS)and the outlet sales target. Inhouse Basic Essential Service Training (BEST):
- Briefing on Service Standards
- Briefing on Product Knowledge and selling techniques
- Buddy with the trainer to perform Sales-driven and cost-conscious. Continuous Improvement: - sharing sessions with the trainer to determine learning gaps, knowledge and skills and to take steps to plug the gaps
