The job holder will assist the school in the finance and administration requirements of the school.
The incumbent performs the day-to-day financial operations of the school, support our financial health and ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth operational flow. He/she is expected to provide back-up support for school administration and payroll processing when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations and Reporting (80%)
- Oversee and perform the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, fixed asset management, etc.
- Process payment for invoices and staff claims in a timely manner
- Manage revenue collection
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure proper use of funds based on the specified purposes of each fund.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Prepare financial reports, such as income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, etc.
- Advise and assist the School Leaders in financial management and provide support in financial updates to the School Management Committee
- Ensure timely submission of reports to relevant government agencies e.g., MOE, SGEnable,
- Co-ordinate and facilitate external auditor on the annual financial audit
- Communicate to and advise staff on financial matters.
- Review existing business processes and control environment and make recommendations for improvements
Administrative Support (20%)
- Provide back-up support for school administration and payroll processing when required
- Answer incoming phone calls, direct phone calls to relevant staff and taking messages when required
- Provide assistance walk-in visitors, including parents, vendors, and students seeking help at the General Office.
- Perform any other administrative duties as directed by the School Principal, Admin Manager and Heads of Programme
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Accountancy
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Finance experience in a school environment will be an advantage
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Team player, meticulous, organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Microsoft Excel)
