Koch-Glitsch, a Koch Engineered Solutions Business, is seeking a dynamic Process & Sales Engineer to join our team in Singapore. This role focuses on projects across South-East Asia, North Asia, China, and Oceania, and is part of our Phase Separation team, dealing with mist elimination and liquid-liquid separation. We are looking for a technically adept and commercially savvy engineer with 2-4 years of experience. The position offers a balanced mix of technical (70%) and commercial (30%) responsibilities, providing a comprehensive and rewarding career opportunity.
Our Team
As a Process Engineering and Proposal Development Specialist, you will support projects across the APAC region and collaborate closely with country managers to drive aftermarket sales in Southeast Asia. This role is supervised by the APAC Product Leader based in Singapore; and involves collaboration with country managers across Asia.
What You Will Do
Process Engineering & Proposal Development (70% of role)
- Craft technical and commercial solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Analyze customer material requisitions and specifications.
- Select and pre-design equipment, performing hydraulic calculations/simulations.
- Estimate costs and develop quotations.
- Engage in technical clarifications, including negotiations and meetings with customers.
- Update and revise quotations as necessary.
- Write technical agreements for contracts, particularly for the China market。
Commercial Activities (30% of role)
- Partner with country managers to enhance sales and market presence for phase separation products in Southeast Asia.
- Oversee aftermarket opportunities for customers in South-East Asia.
- Collaborate with country managers to grow the aftermarket business.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Customer focus and ability to build relationships with customers.
- University degree in a related field (preferably chemical engineering or similar), and 2-4 years of work experience.
- A creative and out-of-the-box thinking mind, essential when working on retrofit projects.
- Organization skills and ability for multitasking in a fast-paced work environment.
- Maturity, pragmatism, self-sufficiency, and high team spirit are essential qualities to succeed in this fast moving, dynamic environment.
- Prepared to travel within the APAC region (up to 25%).
- Experience with basic CAD modeling (AutoCAD or Inventor).
- Proficient in Mandarin to better serve our Mandarin-speaking customers.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in similar roles with EPCs or other equipment suppliers.
- Capabilities on cost definition development.
- Familiarity with the different business cultures across APAC.
- Experience in Oil & Gas.
- Process simulation capabilities (e.g., with SimSci Pro-II or MySep).
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
