Business Development Director

Business Development Director (in supply chain, logistics), Key Responsibilities is:-

  1. Sales Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet the company’s revenue and growth targets.
    • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the supply chain sector.
    • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to refine strategies.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a sales team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and coaching.
    • Set clear performance objectives and ensure the team meets sales quotas.
    • Foster a high-performance culture and provide ongoing development opportunities for team members.
  3. Client & Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners.
    • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and tailored solutions.
    • Oversee the negotiation of large, complex deals, and contracts.
  4. Revenue Growth & Business Development:
    • Drive revenue growth by expanding the customer base and entering new markets.
    • Develop partnerships and collaborations with other stakeholders in the supply chain network.
    • Explore opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell products and services.
  5. Operational & Financial Management:
    • Set and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and financial targets.
    • Monitor sales performance, including tracking KPIs and using data to inform decision-making.
    • Collaborate with other departments (such as operations, logistics, and procurement) to ensure seamless customer service delivery.
  6. Market Intelligence & Innovation:
    • Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and emerging technologies that could impact the supply chain business.
    • Adapt and innovate sales processes to improve efficiency and client engagement.
    • Lead efforts to digitize or streamline sales and operational processes when appropriate.
  7. Collaboration with Senior Management:
    • Work closely with the executive team to align sales goals with the company's overall strategy.
    • Present regular sales reports and forecasts to the board or senior management.

Key Skills & Qualifications: :

  • Experience: At least 10 years of sales experience, with 8+ years in a leadership role within the supply chain, logistics, or transportation industry specialisation in India Market
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a large sales team.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of market analysis, sales forecasting, and financial metrics.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle high-level relationships and deals.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term sales strategies.
  • Results-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
