Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee daily activities of assigned staff, providing performance feedback and staffing recommendations.
- Examine test samples and interpret measuring instruments, blueprints, schematics, and operational instructions.
- Develop and implement operating, maintenance, and test procedures in line with laboratory standards and safety policies.
- Coordinate, schedule, and review staff workflow to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Design and adapt test setups and equipment based on test specifications and engineering requests.
- Prepare purchase and material requisitions, and recommend solutions for test-related issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and clients to ensure clear communication of test methods, equipment availability, and results.
- Assist in training and developing laboratory staff, and plan and evaluate tests, providing interpretations and reports.
- Support the development of new test methods and modifications to existing ones.
- Contribute to annual budget planning, capital expenditures, and tactical goals for laboratory operations.
- Integrate continuous improvement practices and adhere to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and security protocols.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring high-quality results and exceptional customer service.
- Strong collaboration skills, partnering effectively with Engineering and Laboratory teams to complete projects on time and with precision.
- Expertise in analyzing unique testing needs and performing product safety and electrical performance testing.
- Experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing or familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards is preferred.
- Skilled at coaching and mentoring junior laboratory staff.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to incorporate automation into testing processes.
