Job Summary:
The laser Cladding Applicator is responsible to apply laser cladding to enhance and/or restore the surface properties of components. He is required to have a good understanding on laser cladding application /technique as well as a strong understanding of materials and processes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Program, operate and maintain laser cladding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
2. Prepare substrates by cleaning and pre-treating surfaces to ensure effective bonding.
3. Select appropriate cladding materials and parameters based on job requirement.
4. Apply laser cladding techniques to repair and enhance components, following work instruction and best practices.
5. Conduct quality inspections to ensure the integrity and consistency of cladded surfaces.
6. Collaborate with supervisor & engineers to troubleshoot and optimize processes.
7. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including consumable usage and process parameters.
8. Perform routine maintenance on laser cladding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
9. Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and quality.
10. Perform other assignments and duties as required.
11. Understand and aware of the impact of each activity to the company and its environment and must minimize the detrimental results as required.
12. Follow safe work practices and procedures.
13. Ensure HS&E policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements:
1. Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in welding, metallurgy, or a related field preferred.
2. Proven experience with laser cladding or similar advanced welding techniques.
3. Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties & proficient in operating laser cladding machinery and related tools.
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
