Freelance Business Development Specialist (Construction)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis:
    Conduct thorough research to identify market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the construction sector.
  • Lead Generation:
    Identify and target potential clients, including developers, contractors, and government bodies involved in construction projects.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to ensure long-term business success.
  • Proposal & Bid Preparation:
    Prepare tailored proposals, bids, and presentations for potential construction projects. Collaborate with the internal team to ensure alignment with company capabilities.
  • Partnership Development:
    Develop strategic partnerships with vendors, subcontractors, and other industry players to enhance service offerings.
  • Networking & Events:
    Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build contacts and explore business opportunities.
  • Sales Targets & Performance:
    Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs set by the company. Regularly report on progress and market insights to management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Proven track record of securing contracts and growing business portfolios.

  • Industry Knowledge:
    In-depth understanding of the construction industry, including current trends, key players, and regulatory environment.
  • Networking & Relationship Building:
    Strong ability to establish and nurture client relationships.
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills:
    Ability to close deals and secure contracts while ensuring mutual benefit for both parties.
  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills for proposals, presentations, and client interactions.
  • Project Management:
    Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines independently.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Ability to address challenges and develop solutions in the pre-construction or bidding phase.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Existing network of contacts within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with construction project management tools and CRM systems.
  • Flexibility to travel and attend on-site client meetings or industry events.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a freelance capacity.
